JMD Group, LLC. has been serving clients for more than 15 years. With nearly 100 large and midsize businesses in this region, we specialize in employee benefit plans, group insurance programs and individual coverage for key employees and business situations.

As a testimony to our work, we have consistantly earned the Golden Eagle Award, the highest given by the National Association of Health Underwriters and simultaneously continue to qualify as a lifetime member of the Million Dollar Round Table. We also hold membership in national organizations like CFPN, NAHU, CAHU, NAIFA and NAIFA Chattanooga.

And, while we appreciate being recognized by our industry for the success we have achieved, we realize that these awards are really a testament to our clients. Without their satisfaction and trust over the years, we would not have been in a position to receive such accolades.

John has been in the insurance business for over 35 years.  In 1990, John launched JMD Group to focus on employee benefits.  However, he did not want to open up just another insurance agency.  He wanted to build a business that others would come to recognize and rely upon for its unique commitment to client advocacy, creative business solutions and peace of mind.  In fact, John would like you to think of JMD Group as your very own group benefits department. 

While the years have brought several national industry awards and recognition, it’s the clients that have stayed with him all the years that means the most.  That’s why you won’t just hear from John or his staff only at renewal time, or when there’s a problem.  He is committed to being your partner, not an insurance vendor.  Not only a strong advocate for your employees, he’s always reachable and always ready with solutions.

A Chattanooga area native, John and Karen live on Signal Mountain with their three children.  He and his family are members of the First Presbyterian Church of Chattanooga, Tennessee where John serves as a deacon. 

Bill is a native of Chattanooga. He is married with two children. He has been in the insurance business since 1975. He specializes in business and personal insurance planning. He also advises in financial services and estate planning. He is a lifetime member of the Million Dollar Roundtable and holds educational certification in business insurance and estate planning. He is a member of CFPN (Christian Financial Professionals Network), National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, National Association of Health Underwriters and American Association of Long Term Care Insurance. He is involved in his local church and is a member of the Christian Business Men’s Council. He is very active in outdoor sports, hunting, fishing, hiking, scuba diving, skiing and karate. He is also active in sports with his son. “The best is yet to come” and "This too shall pass" are Bill’s philosophy.

Jack is originally from Chattanooga, Tennessee where he graduated from McCallie. He moved to Knoxville and graduated with a Logistics and International Business degree, as well as Spanish minor from The University of Tennessee.

Jack began his career with JMD Group after working for several years as a business professional with Dell Incorporated in Nashville. Jack enjoys the insurance business the most because it gives him the opportunity to build relationships with clients and make an impact on their lives. The opportunity to work with clients in helping them develop a plan for themselves as well as their business has made the transition very rewarding.

Jack lives in Chattanooga with his wife Shannon and dog Sam. In his leisure, he enjoys spending time with family, exercising, watching a sporting event, and playing golf.

Melissa is a native of the Chattanooga area.  She is married to Jim and has two daughters, Amber and Kayla.  She enjoys reading, tennis and water sports. She graduated with an Associates in Business Management degree in 1979 from Edmondson Business College and later achieved her BS from UTC in Business Management. She started her career in benefits as a Fund Administrator with the Iron Workers Welfare & Pension Plan.  Since starting her career in benefits she has worked all aspects of insurance; life, health, dental, vision as well as disability and life coverage.  She has worked in Employee Benefits for over 20 years.

Charity is a native of the Chattanooga area. She has been in group insurance since 1999. Her time spent outside of insurance is shopping, working out, and spending time with family and friends.

As the Marketing Specialist for JMD Group, LLC,  Donna’s primary focus is on Research and Marketing of Employer Group insurance products.
 
After college, Donna began her insurance career in 1977 in Claims Operations for Provident Life & Accident Insurance Company, LifeForce Health Plans and Cariten Healthcare.
Donna joined us in April, 2008 after seven years as an account manager with another local Insurance Agency.

Donna is a native of Chattanooga and has been married for 31 years.  In her off time, she enjoys reading and outdoor activities-boating, camping, fishing, gardening.

As the IT Specialist for JMD Group, LLC,  Joe’s primary focus is Technology and Information Systems.  He also assists with Marketing, Enrollments and Service.
 
Joe joined JMD Group, LLC on a part-time basis while in College and upon graduation in December, 2007, became full time.  Joe graduated from University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a Bachelors of Science in Business Management with a focus in Human Resources.

Joe has lived in Chattanooga for the past five years and is originally from Turtletown, Tennessee.   When Joe isn’t working,  he enjoys playing guitar, listening to music, watching movies, playing sports, and hanging out with friends and family.

Anna is a native of the Chattanooga area. She works at JMD Group as an Administrative Assistant. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her husband, friends and family.

Michelle does all of our individual and "baby group" insurance of five employees or less. She specializes in medical, dental and supplemental medical insurance. Michelle’s ability to work one on one with clients to provide the benefits they need is what sets her apart from other agencies.
